The porterhouse steak is a essentially a combination of two steaks; if you cut it correctly, you would have a tenderloin steak and a top loin steak (a.k.a. NY strip), which is why it's almost always big enough for two. It has bold, beefy flavor and usually just needs a bit of seasoning and it's ready to throw on the grill or in the oven.
